Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, is an American actor. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills in ABC's Lost TV show. Born in Worthington Ohio she quit high school in order to relocate to Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. Although she was struggling financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut acting as Rachel's Room's primary character. The television film Murder in Greenwich where she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the main actor in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace left the show to focus on her acting career. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. She appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace performed the role of Shannon once more in the show's final episode and two other episodes. She was in 2013 for the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith who's an avid stargazer as well as a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's a Gyllenhaal. daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is younger in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in her father's films and appeared with her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). She also starred as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) and Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) that earned her Golden Globe Award nods. In 2006, she appeared in numerous commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However, it was her role as Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). She was recognized for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mother on screen in Crazy Heart. Following that she was able to appear in comedy films as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and Won't Back Down (12). The actress also appeared as an Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action-packed thriller released in 2013, a musician as Frank (2014), a musician Frank (2014) and her role as the main character on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in the year 2018. In 2021 Gyllenhaal has made her scriptwriting and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she won the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
